Ubuntu LinuxがインストールされたサーバーにMellanoxのConnectX(R)-5 VPI adapter cardを装備して、QSFP28トランシーバーのテストを行いました。

FECが標準で有効な100G AOC, 100G CWDM4, 100G 4WDM-10を試しましたが何も問題なくリンクアップし、データの疎通も確認できました。またethtoolでトランシーバーのステータスが正しく所得できることも確認しました。

注意点が二つ

ethtoolのバージョンが古いとデータの詳細が表示されません。ubuntuに標準装備のものはversion 1.46だったで最新の4.16のソースコードを入手してコンパイルしたものを使いました。4MLなのに4WDMではなく4WDMと表示されてしまうのはethtoolのソースを見るとまだSF-8024 Rev 4.0対応のテーブルしか記述されていません。4WDMはRev 4.3で追加されましたので最新でもまだ未対応と言う事でしょう。

光ファイバーをさしても直ぐにはリンクアップしません。おおよそ5秒弱の遅れがあってからリンクアップします。
